Candied Bacon & Whisky on the Rocks

  1. Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C). In small bowl, stir together brown sugar, 3 tbsp (45 mL) maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Brush mixture onto both sides of bacon slices. Thread tightly onto skewers. Arrange skewers on rack of foiled-lined roasting pan. Bake about 15 to 18 min., turning over halfway, until bacon is browned and crispy. Transfer to paper towel-lined dish to cool completely.

  2. Meanwhile, in pitcher, stir together whisky, lime juice and remaining maple syrup. Stir in ginger ale. Pour over 6 low-ball glasses filled with ice. Place candied bacon skewers across rims. Serve immediately.
